:D.

Are you claiming this to be yours? You need to give credit man.

Nice!

I found it quite interesting and thought it was a good listen.

Critically, I felt that the vocals were a little too dominant over the instrumentals, but thats not too bad since you have a good voice. I wish I could throw some example of what this reminds me of, because it is very familiar, and thats because its really great. Great emotional song.

On a side note, you REALLY sound like the singer of Red Animal War to me. I don't know why :D.

Wolftacular responds:

I'm very glad you enjoyed it, and that you thought it was good to listen to.

Yup, I know what you're saying about the vocals. It was done on purpose, but maybe I exaggerated. I just wanted to make sure they sounded clear. I kinda suck at tracking and all, so yeah, my bad.

Hmm, really? I guess I'll listen to them and see if its true =P

Thanks a lot for the review! =D

Interesting.

The sampling was apropriate and atmmospheric, but the verse fails to capture what is in the chorus, I feel.

What song is this sampling by the way? I never really have the time to get all of her catalog.

randomheckler responds:

"I see Who You Are" from the Volta album. i added some stuff. i think so too but i think an artist can use that difference as their strong point and create something new and interesting. there are so many possibilities when it comes to music, i think.

Hitting that soft spot.

I'm a sucker for this. My favorite video game piece of all time, ambiently and soulfully composed.

I don't think I can ever give a great adaption of this piece less than a 10 and a 5.

Critically, some of the piano-noodling feels a little stale, especially in the stacattos.

Kreepman responds:

hehe I'll work on that piano-noodling :D
Thanks man!

Nice.

Not really a fan of upbeat things (which might be something to tell my therapist), but you made a nice relax tune with some interesting qualities.

I would say somewhere around House, for the genre. It has some subtle Trance qualities though, and its simplicity sort of pushes it away from electronica.

Nice though!

haxory responds:

Thanks man :)
Appreciate that!

Fantastic.

I looked at some more of your work and I have to say that this is amazing. Extremely reminiscent of mega man, which is very positive thing.

You have a great style going, one that I can't explain, but which is very traditional and exhilirating.

Good luck with future projects! If I have to give a crit, it would be that the drums be a little more prominent instead of that "rattle." Also, perhaps you could have a double lead with the more "high trumpet" sounding square. When the intro breaks out into the song, some drums guiding the drastic change in tempo would do the song wonders,

BallinFatty responds:

thanks!! the problem with the drums, i used an instrument and tweaked the presets. i had no plugins or anything, so i basically had to use other instruments as drums. and now that u mention it, a double lead would've sounded kinda nice. i may come back to this one day

anyways, thanks again for your review, 10, and your time in listening!!

I like it!

The composition is swell, and I applaud you for following the limitations, something that always brings an interesting and clean result.

I don't think those VSTs in FL are actually NES though, while the may sound like it. If you want some real NES instruments I suggest getting the tweakbench VSTs. Its quick and easy and sounds a little better. Get triforce, peach, and toad.

As for the music, I really love the hooks you have. While it is repetitive, it does its job well and the transition into the chorus is perfect. I might suggest adding a little more variety however, as this reminded me of something from the first two sonic games, and if you hear those you'll notice some more complex beats (albeit it wasn't on the NES :D).

BallinFatty responds:

thanks. yea, im well aware that these are not NES VSTs, however they are the only thing that resembles the NES ones, which is why i pretty much have no other resort if i want to make 8 bit(ish). ive tried downloading the actual VSTs mulitple times b4, but my computer always wants to open the file as an application. ??? dont know why

anyways, im glad u enjoyed it. im working on another at the moment, when its done i shall upload it
thanks again for your review, 9, and your time in listening

Amazing.

I've listened to your work and you are an astounding musician/composer.

This music is an experience and truly entrancing.

I can't imagine what you could do out of a time signature, take for example Esperanza Spalding's work.

No1r responds:

Thank you very much for listening to my works and taking some time for reviewing dude!
Appreciate it!

Great!

I absolutely love the dynamics and veclocity of the drums. I expected that generic snare sound but loved the organic sound. I wish there would have been a little more experimentation and creativity during some drumming, but it was well done and I think you deserve a 10 :).

Not quite a favorite yet, though.

Pocketpod responds:

Thanks for your review...

Nice

Reminds me A LOT of the Chao Garden mini-games music from Sonic 2 Adventure Battle. Very atmospheric and soothing.
