I don't even know what to write, every movement of this song makes so much sense together and has such a great vibe to it. One of my (oddly enough) favorite songs from the good ol' sonic games is Mystic Cave from Sonic II, and honestly if this replaced it would have been my favorite sonic song. I don't really know how I came to the conclusion that you wrote my favorite old school sonic song in a parallel dimension, but oh well.

disk00 responds:

Ah, that is also one of my favorite sonic tunes :D Sonic ftw! Glad you like this one so much hehe :P

5 and 6, man.

disk00 responds:

Took me a really long time to actually get them touched up the way I wanted them, but I JUST uploaded them. Like 5 minutes ago, so check them out if you want.

Actually, If I were to get deep about it (or whatever) , the leading melody has a very confident sound that makes it really interesting. How could say ears will bleed with that beautiful chorus, as well? I can't get over how well the song is executed, it feels like I'm playing some sort of Kirby-esque game, watching a cutscene, as another mysterious character is acting out some mischief to the odd leading instrument. It all feels choreographed somehow, and the ending is great payoff!

disk00 responds:

Haha, now that I think about it...this does kind of sound like something you'd hear in a kirby cutscene.

Trashy

This goes pretty hard, I like it. I feel that the piano is a little inapropriate, not so much the counter melody just the quality of the the VST, which I understand is out of the composer's power sometimes. This definitely a nice banger tune.

disk00 responds:

Good point on the piano. I've been really random when it comes to compositions lately. If you've ever seen anything else I make. Its all over the place. Genre/style/quality wise. I don't really know why I do that to be honest. Thanks for the review though.

Nice

A nice little tune. i love the melody and how it gives off that anxious feeling that was so abundant back in the true 8-bit games. High five.

Calamaistr responds:

yea melodies huh :)

i make a lot of spherical 8 bit but now and then just need a little melody too. :)
thanks -cal.

Fuuuuuu

This is so great. I'm instantly pleased by anything SF but this takes it to another level.

Ironclover responds:

I'm glad you liked it, I took extra time to get it to sound extra epic. :)

Zerobombers:

They just roam through the portals hitting zero to hurt your feelings. Don't mind them, this has a real sonic-esque vibe, some of my favorite 16-bit era music. Masterful composing of the chorus and I love hearing all the details, especially in the latter half. You need to do this full time.

disk00 responds:

I've been told this too. Somebody said i should get all of my works into a portfolio and send them to Developers, like Indie devs. But my biggest downfall, If you told me to compose something right now, or cover something. I wouldnt be able to do it. I only have been able to compose music/make music covers when im in a dark-emotional state. Cant really describe it.

Refreshing

It's always great to see something different and this soul/jazzy/r&b tune is a nice change. I can't tell if it's a cover but either way you did a great job. My only complaint is that it could be mixed a little better as some of the elements like bass don't show too well (wearing studio headphones).

DiroNomer responds:

Thanks for the review. I hear what you are talking about, and was trying to find some better ways to mix this.

Honestly

This is beautiful. I love all the creative aspects, the experimentation with delay, the ease of progression. Perhaps I have the blessing of listening to this on "professional" studio headphones, but nothing beats the authenticity of a tracker and great composition. Reminds me of a cave story ending song <3.

disk00 responds:

Yeah this is probably my favorite composition. My friends all thought i was godly when I showed them. haha. If only I have a Piano/Keyboard that plugged into my computer, would make a lot more of this, and better sounding stuff. Thanks for the review! Btw Cave story ftw <3

Beautiful

I loved the transition towards the end, and all these jazzy licks :D.

foreverd1 responds:

Never go wrong with Jazz =D, thanks.
